As a teenager, I read the short SF stories of Isaac Asimov, Philip K. Dick and John Shirley. They gave me the bug for writing my own science fiction, along with William Gibson and Arthur C. Clarke. My first professional sale - The Uncertainty Principle - appeared in a book called The Mammoth Book of Future Cops, edited by Maxim Jacubowski, which included many stories by my favourite authors.

Since then, I've written over fifty science fiction short stories. The Tomorrow Tower contains nine of them, a collection of cyberpunk, alternate history and hard SF.
