A Toolkit for the Effective Teaching Assistant is designed to help all teaching assistants be more effective in their practice and to develop their professional capabilities. The toolkit approach allows the reader to take what is useful from the book when it is needed; the chapters have been designed to allow for readers to dip into and out of the book as necessary. Chris Lee was until recently Senior Lecturer in Education and Head of the School of Continuing Professional Development at the Faculty of Education, University of Plymouth. He has taught in secondary and special schools, and continues to work with teachers on issues of bullying and behaviour management. He is now a freelance educational consultant.
