From the Top (Paperback or Softback)

After a lifetime of international travel, the author, a master of the dramatic anecdote, has retired to rural Victoria to write his memoir. For thirty-three years he was the producer of lavish Moulin Rouge- style theatrical extravaganzas from Paris to Tokyo, to every other city you can think of, mixing with legendary celebrities from the stars of stage and screen to dictators to princes to presidents.

The memoir travels across the territory from his dismal childhood of poverty and violence in Ballarat, to the gleaming pinnacles of a life in the fastest of lanes, to the present period of hilarious reflection.

From theTop will move you and inspire you with its frank, vivid, intimate, and rollicking detail. It elaborates on what it was like to be openly gay in Australia in the second half of the twentieth century. And, coming from a man whose life has been dedicated to entertaining, is laced with daring wit, with wild splashes of wisdom. It is, in the end, a warm and moving account of a life well lived.
