Illustrating the local history of the country, arranged alphabetically by place. The first edition of 1831 was followed by six further editions. The present set contains the seventh and last edition in four volumes, without the atlas volume. Embellished in text with engravings of the arms of the cities, boroughs, &c, and of the seals of municipal corporations.Featuring a preface and list of subscribers to vol. I. In the original publisher's uniform full cloth binding. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, bumped to head ad tail of spine and extremities. Internally, p. v vol. I is loose but present, binding is firm. Pages bright and clean. Very Good Indeed.
