The Torch

You’ve tried quitting—on your own, through willpower, even through church. But the shame, the relapse, the emptiness keeps returning. What if true freedom isn’t found in abstinence alone… but in surrender?

The Torch is not another generic recovery guide. Written by Rev. Raff Chaves—a formerly homeless addict turned Anglican priest—this powerful book reorients the 12 Steps through the unchanging truth of Scripture. Discover why “a Higher Power” isn’t enough—you need Jesus, the living Word who illuminates every dark corner of addiction, trauma, and self-destruction.
Inside, you’ll:

• Work each step through biblical reflection, not just secular slogans
• Break free from substitution addictions (porn, shopping, people-pleasing, etc.)
• Confess with courage, make real amends, and walk in daily spiritual vigilance
• Replace guilt with grace, isolation with community, and chaos with Christ-led peace

Whether you’re battling drugs, alcohol, food, sex, or emotional coping mechanisms, this guide meets you where you are—with raw honesty, pastoral wisdom, and gospel hope.
