Add to basket143pp. Black boards, red lettering. Wear to the lower corner tips, otherwise the covers are sharp and well preserved. There is a closed tear to the front endpaper, small owner's book stamp on the rear pastedown, even light toning throughout. Unclipped original, pictorial jacket has chips along the extremities, detached panels which heal well in the mylar sleeve. The Torrents of Spring stands as a humorous critique of 1920s literary culture while also parodying Sherwood Andersons Dark Laughter. Though not deemed a major work, it is historically significant as Hemingways second published book, offering glimpses into the early stages of his literary journey. The key to understanding this work lies in appreciating its comedic absurdity. Size: Octavo.
