1939. Hardback. The Left Book Club pioneered by Victor Gollancz offered a monthly book choice for sale to members only as well as a newsletter that acquired the status of a major political magazine. Membership peaked at 57,000 but after the Soviet-Nazi non-aggression pact of 1939 it disowned its large Communist element. "The best publisher alive or dead", C P Snow. Good clean copy lightly aged. Original title-blocked red card covers. Ex Libris with usual markings, remains a very nice copy. . . . . Books ship from the US and Ireland.
