About the Author:

Angela M. Thompson

Angela M. Thompson obtained a BSPE, M.Sc. in physical education and a Ph.D. in kinesiology from the University of Saskatchewan. She currently teaches in the Department of Human Kinetics at St. Francis Xavier University. An Outstanding Teacher Award recipient in 2005, Angie teaches Principles of Human Movement, Personal Health and Wellness, Qualitative Research Methods, Child Growth and Development, and Health Education. She is an avid researcher who focuses on physical activity, physical fitness, and health, primarily in children and youth. Community contributions include committee work with the University Research Ethics Board, Library, and Senate, as well as participation in the wider community with the Nova Scotia Alliance for Healthy Eating and Physical Activity and with the Active Kids, Healthy Kids communities. She also makes various presentations, including keynote addresses, to groups focused on early childhood development, child and youth services, chronic disease prevention, behaviour change, and education. Although a reviewer of many textbooks, the Canadian edition of Total Fitness and Wellness is her first contribution to textbook publishing.

Camie C. Condon

Camie C. Condon received an M.Sc. in investigative psychology from the University of Liverpool and is currently working on her Ph.D. in forensic psychology with Charles Sturt University in Australia. She has taught at Wilfrid Laurier University and Conestoga College Institute of Advanced Learning and Technology in the liberal and contemporary studies departments and in the law and security administration/police foundations programs. Camie teaches Wellness: The Better You, Fitness for Law and Security Administration, Psychology, Process of Behaviour, Sociology and Canadian Society, Criminology, Criminal Profiling and Crime Analysis, and Canadian Criminal Justice.  She has several years of experience in the physical fitness industry and holds certifications in fitness, yoga, and nutrition and wellness. Her community contributions include tri-annual seminars on fitness and wellness, as well as corporate training to develop group communication skills. She is also an active board member with the Kitchener―Waterloo Sexual Assault Support Centre. Although she has reviewed many textbooks, the Canadian edition of Total Fitness and Wellness is her first involvement with textbook publishing.
