Total Vehicle Technology Radical: Finding the Radical, Implementing the Practical (3rd International Conference) (IMechE Event Publications)

This important collection of papers from a conference organised by the University of Sussex presents you with twenty-four papers, which Peter Childs and Richard Stobart have collectively drawn together. They present you with distinct areas of automotive design and engineering in order to broaden the perspectives of designers frequently engaged in narrow, specialized activities and therefore, contribute to the advancement of vehicle technology.

The papers individually address aspects of:

• Vehicle dynamics and control
• Control and design of the power train
• Vehicle safety
• Human centered design
• Environmental vehicle propulsion
• Vehicle design
• Experimental techniques
• Control systems technology.

Peter Childs is a Reader at the University of Sussex, Director of the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre for Aero-Thermal Systems, and Chairman of the South Eastern Region of the Institution of Mechcanical Engineers.

Richard Stobart is the Professor of Automotive Engineering at the University of Sussex and is Chair of the Advanced Powerplant Committee of the Society of Automotive Engineers.
