Hard cover in very good condition for its age. FEP clipped at head, with small embossed 'W.H. Smith & Son, London' banner below clip. Accompanying map of the area (loose) is laid in. A selection of contemporaneous adverts are printed at rear, incuding Allen's Portmanteaus, Lamplough's Pyretic Saline, Freeman's Chlorodyne, and Whelpton's Vegetable Purifying Pills. Brown cloth boards have gilt type to front and spine. General shelf and handling, including wear to boards at edges, tanning to board spine and pageblock, tanning leading into pastedowns and endpapers. Title page has small open tear at spine point, but remains firmly in place, occasional blemishes and discolouration noted to content and map, consistent with the age and purpose of this book. Occasional gutterbreak noted within, but contents are tightly bound, and other than light pencil marginalia, content is largely unmarked, text clear and bright. CN.
