Item description from seller

This is a very rare mid-19th century school book from 1862, reprinted by Crosby and Nichols, Boston, Mass. The original was published in 1855. This book was part of a series of books teaching reading. It in is great condition, considering it is 163 years old. The cover has edgewear on all edges and the back cover has a stain. There are two bonuses. First is an antique mechanical carrying strap with a pair of handles that wind up cotton twill straps (see pictures). The second is a piece of paper announcing an Auction that took place in February 1891, approx. 5x8" written in cursive. The book is 5x8" and 8x8" with the handle attached. Used/Good: A book with more than average wear from 160+ years of use, all pages present and binding is tight.
