About the Author
By day, Jon is a senior UX design professional with more than twenty years of experience leading design strategy for Fortune 500 companies in insurance and industrial automation. He holds nineteen patents for industrial software applications and has also brought his expertise to fast-moving startups in the commercial security and real estate technology industries.
Outside of work, Jon writes extensively on user experience, design, and innovation. His thought leadership has appeared in UXmatters, UX Collective, and The Startup. He has served as a contributing columnist for UXmatters since 2017. As a fiction writer, Jon's short stories have been featured in Ghostlight: The Magazine of Terror (Spring 2019), Dark Dossier #32, and The Devil's Doorbell: An Anthology of Darkest Romance.
Jon lives in the Cleveland, Ohio area with his wife and two sons. Fueled by hoppy beer, strong coffee, and an enduring curiosity about the unknown, he enjoys hiking and biking along the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail in Cuyahoga Valley National Park—the setting that inspired The Towpath.
Fun fact: Jon is a distant descendant of American author, Nathaniel Hawthorne, on his mother's side of the family. Jon is publicly represented by Boundless Media.
