In the city of Berenicia an accident at a nuclear power plant leads to the city being flooded with radiation. One third of the population died instantly. Another third of the population died in the immediate aftermath. The few that survived past that had a very short life expectancy. However, there was a light at the end of the tunnel. For some reason, the radiation had a stronger effect on the Y chromosome. Not only did the women survive longer, the children they gave birth to had a high survival rate. Girls were born with little to no radiation in their bodies. Boys had a 50/50 chance of survival. Oscar Mireles was no ordinary boy. The son of immigrant parents, a father from Puerto Rico and a mother from Italy, Oscar was born with immense levels of radiation in his body. The doctors were shocked he survived childbirth. They didn't expect him to make it through the night. But he did. The years passed and Oscar got to live as a normal child. Till one day the doctors discovered that his body was actually generating the radioactive energy. If he didn't find safe ways to regularly release the radiation building up within him it would destroy his body. That's when his older brother Juan had the idea. Oscar would become a Superhero. Oscar spent years of his life learning to fight and training himself to control the discharges. Now, on the eve of his 16 birthday, He lives his daily life going to school by day and fighting crime by night. This is where his adventures begin.
