Undated, but faded ink inscription to the front end paper is dated 1883. Original binding of red cloth with decorations and titles in black and gilt. Some wear to spine ends, some darkening but remaining neat and robust. Pattern also imprinted on the back board. Corners bumped. Internally hinge and text block sound, inscription at the front and remains of childish penciled scribble to the rear end papers. Coloured frontispiece illustration entitled "The Departure". One or two smudges to pages, but generally smooth and clean, no spotting or foxing. Several pages of publisher advertising at the rear. A very good, neat copy. Seller Inventory # 035370
