Complete in three volumes. Rebound in a full cloth binding, and with new endpapers. Written by Charles Hutton, the important mathematician and surveyor of the 18th and 19th century, who worked as a professor of Mathematics in the Royal Military Academy in Woolwich. He is best remembered calculating the density of the Earth. In this work Hutton explores a series of mathematics tracts, with numerous mathematical equations and illustrative diagrams throughout evidencing his research. Illustrated with 6 folding plate and 1 plate to volume II, and 3 folding plates and 1 plate to volume III. No collation available. Internally firmly bound.
