Large Hardback. Approx 10.5 x 7.5 inches. In maroon cloth with pictorial gilt designs and lettering to front and spine. Top page edges gilt. Grey endpapers. In dustwrapper with matching design on spine and colour plate to front. In very good condition with good dustwrapper. (DW darkened, chipped at corners and ends of spine, partial crack to front hinge/fold. In protective sleeve.) Cloth has some minor rubbing to corners, with some fading to cloth at ends of spine. Else cover clean and smart. Gilt bright. Endpapers clean. No penned inscriptions. Pages all very clean and tight. No marks or spots. Plates clean and bright. Else a very good clean and tight copy. xxiii + 377pp. Illustrated with 30 colour plates, a doubled-page map, and many B&W illustrations in text.
