The Trail Through the Pines (Rural Mysteries)

When Greta Young’s friend Stacy disappears into the woods, the only clue is the location of her car, abandoned by the road. Greta searches the woods, following a trail near Stacy’s car, but finds no trace of her. Greta keeps looking, and finds clues to Stacy’s disappearance in a cabin by a nearby lake and in Stacy’s apartment in the city. Greta discovers that the woods is the only known location of a rare plant called pinedrops, and her friend has made enemies of local landowners who do not want the woodlands protected and conserved. When Greta is captured by the men who have waylaid Stacy, she must find a way to free them both and find their way home through difficult terrain.
