Many corporates are seeking solutions for training and education that utilise sophisticated technology to bring about improvements in quality and cost-effectiveness. Some large organisations have already made substantial investments in their training infrastructure to create sophisticated e-learning solutions and Corporate Universities. These early adopters have reported significant gains in learning effectiveness, productivity and also major cost savings. However barriers exist which have made others reluctant to follow this route
There is a wealth of information already available which looks at the top level market dynamics of the training and education industry and its supply structure. This includes estimates of the size of the market, its growth rate, segmentation, drivers of growth and identification of the companies that are leaders in provision of content or Learning Management System platforms.
However, what we believe is missing from this picture is an accurate and up-to-date view of what the largest companies are actually doing with regard to their training provision and, most importantly, what they intend to do in the future. This study is intended to fill this gap by researching the training operations of 30 leading UK companies and drawing together the findings in a comprehensive report.
