This book examines the Mayari iron ore deposits of Cuba, providing a detailed analysis of their geological origins and compositions. The author, a respected expert in the field, draws upon extensive research and field studies to present a comprehensive understanding of these significant ore deposits. The book explores the historical development of the Mayari mines, tracing their discovery and subsequent exploration. It delves into the geological processes that formed the serpentine rock from which the ore originates and the subsequent weathering and alteration that created the iron-rich deposits. Through meticulous petrographic analysis, the author unravels the mineralogy of the ore, identifying its various components and their distribution within the deposit. The book concludes by discussing the broader implications of the research, highlighting its importance for understanding similar ore deposits worldwide and its potential applications in the mining industry.
