The Transforming Gift of Dreams: Your Dreams Are the Key to Revitalizing Your Life

Kenneth A. Schmidt, MS, LMFT, applies lessons learned during his thirty-five years as a family therapist to his new guide on personal transformation.

Everyone has had dreams that seem to mean something important. What are they really trying to tell you? In this revealing guide, Schmidt outlines new methods of dreamwork that shift focus away from interpretation—and towards emotional wholeness within.

Using anecdotes from his career, Schmidt shows the difference dreams can make in your personal development. His modified gestalt approach, shifted to incorporate emotions, sees dreams as fragments of the self that need to be integrated back into the whole. This simple change has completely revolutionized his dreamwork and provided major breakthroughs for his patients.

In The Transforming Gift of Dreams, Schmidt teaches you how to

• understand a neuroscientific foundation of dreamwork;
• shift your perspective on the purpose of your dreams;
• cultivate emotional openness and vulnerability;
• identify the emotional reactions your dreams reveal;
• discover your true feelings; and
• use your new insight to confront past traumas and anxieties.

Through your dreams, you can discover who you truly are. Your dreams are telling you something important—all you have to do is open your heart and begin to listen.
