About the Author
Dr. Tager is CEO of ChangeWell Inc., a training and consulting company whose mission it is to guide personal and organizational transformation. For three decades, he has been a leader in delivering unique programs and presentations that reflect the powerful connection between health and productivity. His engaging keynote addresses and insightful seminars and retreats are built upon thoroughly understanding the challenges faced by his audiences and then crafting the learning activities that will best impact the group. He is masterful at identifying trends that affect businesses, developing creative solutions to problems, and leading teams through strategy and planning activities. As a consultant and change agent, he has worked with a broad spectrum of organizations, from Fortune 100 companies to small non-profits. Dr. Tager's business career was founded on a passion for health promotion and disease prevention. As a medical student at Duke University Medical Center, he created one of the first training programs for medical students in nutrition. He also spent time training promotores de salud (barefoot doctors) in the mountains of Guatemala. During his tenure in Portland, Oregon, he founded the Institute of Preventative Medicine, served as corporate Medical Director for Electroscientific Industries (NASDAQ: ESIO) and as the Health Promotion Consultant for Kaiser Permanente Oregon where he established wellness programs for member companies. Dr. Tager founded Great Performance Inc. a wellness training company that he ran for ten years before it was acquired by Mosby Yearbook, a Times Mirror Company in the mid 1990's. During the time he teamed with Dr. Marjorie Blanchard on the first book and training program to explore the concept of "Bad Boss-Good Boss." Working Well provided leaders with the tools to create psychological hardiness in employees. At this time, Dr. Tager created many of the assessment tools used in stress and change management such as The PowerSource Profile. Upon being acquired by Mosby, he was involved in M&A and oversaw the acquisition of five companies. As a consultant, Dr. Tager has combined his business knowledge with his organizational development and communication skills to help medical device, stem cell, cosmeceutical, publishing, clinical laboratory and start0up companies better market their products. His unique skillset lies in the ability to create messages and communication programs for both healthcare providers and consumers. As the founding Vice President of Marketing for Reliant Technologies (NASDAQ: SLTM), he launched the Fraxel laser and introduced the science of fractional photothermolysis to physicians and consumers around the world. Dr. Tager has served as Chief Marketing Office for Syneron (NASDAQ: ELOS) where he launched the very successful VelaShape circumferential reduction device.
