They offer suggestions for future designs for teacher education, drawing not only on the latest research in teacher learning and development but from across the social sciences.

About the Authors

Viv Ellis is Honorary Professor in the Centre for Teachers and Teaching Research at University College London and FUNDEP Magda Soares Chair in Basic Education in the Institute for Advanced Transdisciplinary Studies at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

Jane McNicholl is Associate Professor of Science Education at the University of Oxford, UK.
