This second edition has been written to give the reader the background knowledge required to understand the operation of integrated circuit devices. Topics include the digital families of which transistor-transistor logic, or TTL as it is commonly referred to, is a part; the different types of circuits used in a logic system; the operation of a variable module counter; the mathematics used in TTL; devices and methods used to determine information priority and storage; how TTL logic can be joined to other type circuits or logic families; how fast TTL logic will operate; the number of individual units that can be combined in a single IC package; and how basic counting and data transmission systems work.
