Rudolph Ballentine, M.D. is a respected leader in the field of alternative and complementary medicine. A gradute of Duke University Medical School, he was appointed to the faculty of the department of Psychiatry at Louisiana State University School of Medicine. He was a postgraduate fellow in Ayurvedic medicine in India and psychology in the United States and France.
Dr. Ballentine directed the Himalayan Institute's Combined Therapy Department for more than fifteen years under the guidance of the founder of the Institute, Sri Swami Rama. He is the co-author of Yoga and Psychotherapy and Science of Breath, and has written and edited a number of related works, such as The Theory and Practice of Meditation and Joints and Glands Exercises.
