Trim size = 4.25 x 6.625 x 2 inches. Tan leather boards with gilt-stamped filigree and text to spine. Hubbed spine with red title label. Gilt-stamped border to front and back boards and along board edges. Spine is cracking 3 inches along front cover. Dents and rubbing to leather of front and back cover. All corners are rounded inwards and slightly bumped. Black mark along bottom edge of front board.

Marbled textblock edges and matching marbled endpapers. Edges have darkened with time, but marbling still apparent. Bookplate affixed to ffep with previous bookseller's price added. Previous owner's inscription has bled through to frontis and imprinted on verso page. 900 B&W wood engravings throughout. 812pp.
