New Edition, Half calf over marbled boards and matching, marbled edges, red leather spine label lettered in gilt, compartments in decorative gilt, raised bands, xi, 640pp, [2] ads, illustrated with 7 beautifully colored plates, light image offsetting on title page, and elsewhere in text from plates, owner name on front free endpaper, corners rounded with wear, otherwise near fine. Thaddeus William Harris (November 12, 1795 - January 16, 1856) was an American entomologist and librarian. His focus on insect life cycles and interactions with plants was influential in broadening American entomological studies beyond a narrow taxonomic approach.
