A Treatise On The Motion Of Vortex Rings: An Essay To Which The Adams Prize Was Adjudged In 1882, In The University Of Cambridge (1883)

""A Treatise On The Motion Of Vortex Rings"" is an essay written by Joseph John Thomson, which won the Adams Prize in 1882 at the University of Cambridge. The book explores the phenomenon of vortex rings, which are circular patterns of fluid motion that occur in a variety of natural and man-made systems. Thomson's essay provides a detailed analysis of the mathematical principles governing the motion of these rings, and discusses their applications in fields such as fluid dynamics and aerodynamics. The book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the physics of fluid motion, and provides a fascinating glimpse into the scientific research of the late 19th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
