Artificial Sines, Tangents and Secants, Joseph Crukshank, 1794, 60 pp, plus twelve plates, leather, 8.5 x 5 , 8vo. In as-is condition. Binding copy. Front board is a replacement. Rear board and spine are original leather and quite worn/rubbed. Early manuscript ownerships: This Book was purchased of Mr. William Irwin April 8th, 1806 by Mr. John McAlister of Cumberland County Pennsylvania and presented by him to his son Hugh McAlister of Cumberland County State of New York/David Drummond s Book Bought of Hugh McAlister June 27th, 1816 on flyleaf. Toned and stained interior with areas of dampness staining as well. Twelve of Thirteen (?) maps present in rear. All in good working order. Binding intact. Please see photos. The McAlister family were an important Pioneer group and extensive land owners. Scarce title imprinted by Joseph Crukshank. A handy guide for the 18th century seaman and traveler.
