Synopsis
Over thirty years in the making, Trees 4 Seasons – A Visual Guide, is based upon the simplest of concepts – that is, to present clear, concise, and beautiful color photographic descriptions of our most important deciduous trees with an emphasis on overall form and seasonal changes. Each tree is photographed from the exact same vantage point in each of the seasons – three for shade trees and four for flowering trees. The seasonal portraits are placed side by side on a single page. On the facing page is a brief description, including size, habit, zone, and notes along with detail photographs of the foliage, bark, fruit, and flower. Thus, in looking at the two page spread, the reader is given a quick, clear understanding of the nature of each tree. Although, Trees 4 Seasons is an excellent tool for landscape architecture students and professionals, its user-friendly nature makes it perfect for anyone who loves gardening and, of course, trees. This unique book will become a standard or classic that will endure for many years to come. Trees 4 Seasons was carefully reviewed for content and accuracy by three tree experts at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Their comments and critiques were incorporated into the book’s text. As a result, the book received a significant recommendation from the Chicago Botanic Garden which is prominently displayed at the front of the book. The Author Dan Weinbach has practiced landscape architecture in Chicago and abroad for over forty years. After a stint in the Peace Corps, he began his professional career in the Chicago office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. In 1987, after fifteen years with SOM, he founded his own firm, Daniel Weinbach & Partners, Ltd. Dan’s work includes projects of all types and scales, from international airports and corporate headquarters to small parks and private gardens. He has completed projects throughout the United States and in the Philippines, Taiwan, Mexico, UAE, Qatar, and Oman.
