De origen h�ngaro, emigr� siendo ni�o a Estados Unidos. Fue profesor de escritura creativa en Los �ngeles, en la Universidad de California (UCLA), durante m�s de veinte a�os. Publicada p�stumamente tras su suicidio, Tren sin paradas es su primera obra traducida al castellano.
