Original vintage 1950 copy of "Trial of Alma Victoria Rattenbury and George Percy Stoner" from the Notable British Trials series. Alma Victoria Rattenbury was a Canadian songwriter who was married three times. She was accused & tried along with George Percy Stoner for the murder of her 3rd husband Francis Rattenbury. Stoner was the Rattenbury's 18 year old handyman, chauffer & also Alma's lover. He confessed to hitting Mr. Rattenbury over the head with a mallet while he was sleeping in a chair. The book is in overall good condition with some minor signs of wear and age. The covers have some mild soiling and wear with a slight slant to the spine. The binding is good and sound. There is a later inked name inscription in blue ballpoint point to the front fep. The interior is lightly toned from age but is mostly nice and clean, though there may be the occasional light bit of foxing or grubbiness. Along with that there may be the very occasional page with some kind of other minor imperfection such as a creased page corner, minor stain or marking, tiny chip, etc. Generally though, it's a good copy. The book measures approximately 8 3/4 inches by 5 3/4 inches and is 298 pages long with a few black and white plates.
