Sanford L. Severin, MD, is a physician in private practice and assistant professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. He began a twenty-year study of meditation in the 1970s and has continued this pursuit with Vapassana training under the direction of noted author and teacher, Steven Levine.

Todd D. Severin, MD, is assistant clinical professor at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry, and a lecturer at Meiji College of Oriental Medicine in San Francisco. He has studied tai chi and Taoist healing with world-renowned Taoist master, Abraham Liu.
