Synopsis
TROPAES is what I refer to as the fictional biography of a Warlock. The story of John Tropaes is one of sympathy, disgust, love, horror, passion, and a root for the triumph of an underdog. Born the son of poor Mississippi Cotton Farmers in 1822, he would early in life discover certain metaphysical gifts he possessed, and with the progression of age, so grew the strength of unexplainable abilities. When he was twenty-eight, his quest for knowledge and the power took him to the cross-over that would propel him to a world without death and a degree of Magical proficiency that would forever label him a Warlock. This is his story. From those early days in the 19th century to where he now stands in the new and current millennium. He rode with Frank and Jesse James. He met and fell in love with Larayna Lake, the chamber maid of Monica and Wendel Ravenwood, an evil satanic worshipping pair whose residency was a monstrous gothic Mansion at the turn of the 20th century. He and Larayna adopted a child whose homicidal tendencies would turn their world upside down. He robbed with Bonnie & Clyde. He spent years trapped in a world of the dead that he himself created with the spirits of those he'd killed. He ran a city founded on his thirst for power, supernatural power, fueled by the consumption of the living hearts of his victims. And when he came to face the unexpected truth of his lifelong nemesis, he had to turn to their mutual ground and his conviction of faith for the battle. John Tropaes is like any of us who labor between our dark side and the light of goodness in our hearts. The only difference is his ability to rule in either world.
About the Author
Brad's first Novel, 'THE MELTING' is a Horror story stemming from Vengeance of the Dead. This is a truly original first novel and has been endorsed by Horror veteran ANNE RICEin her statement:
"Brad, Congratulations and all blessings on The Melting. You know the secret; it's courage. We need you and your work."
His second Novel, The Fictional Biography of a Warlock called, 'TROPAES' is the story of a man born in 1822 with certain metaphysical powers that develop with each year of his life. By his 28th birthday, he has acquired full power and ceases to age from that moment on. This story spans his lifetime up to the year 2005.
His third Novel is a non-supernatural murder mystery, called 'DAMEN BRIAR' It is the exposure of the dark and secret life of a man who, with no love loss between him and his estranged mother - were destined to bear responsibility for each other.
In his youth, an attempt to save the life of a classmate, left him brutally beaten and hospitalized. It was there he met his life-long confidant, Mandi Arbor. And when he died, a secret life of torment, revenge, and murder, would unfold.
Brad's fourth book is the compilation of twenty-one of his short stories, the title 'TENDRILS - Creepy & Crawly' pretty well sums up the experience of those stories.
His most recent work is a novel entitled, 'THE DEAD MC' It is the epic story, beginning in 1934, of an Undead Motorcycle Club. This is the first book in a series of three; each book crosses three decades in the un-life and existence of the club - all the love, death, excitement, and horror they carry and leave trails of in the wake of their path.
Brad has also put together an elaborate oversize book of his Poetry and Art, called, 'MOMENTS & CLARITY - Poems, Prose, and Pictures by Brad Rieman', suitable for coffee table display. A stunningly beautiful book with nearly two hundred works of writing, and nearly another fifty in paintings, sketches and art.
