Trouble with Mom

The trouble with Mom is that she just isn't like other moms. Her hats are decorated with snakes and mice, and she flies her son to school on a broomstick. No wonder she doesn't get along with the other parents. Will Mom's special talents ever come in handy?"Well-meaning lovable Mom is a witch, and just can't help turning people into toads and doing other embarrassing things.... A truly funny idea carried out in delightfully inventive pictures". -- The New Yorker

Mom wears funny pointed hats with rats riding on the brim, and when she makes cupcakes they explode, which the neighborhood kids love, and their parents hate. In fact, they forbid their children to go to the narrator's house. Then Mom, on her flying broom, brings in rainclouds when the school is on fire, saving all the children, and the parents decide they like Mom after all.
