Synopsis
An 8x10, soft cover, nonfiction, photo book, TROUPER is the true story of an 8 week old raccoon kit that was brutally beaten in the head with a golf club in North Carolina, and rescued by Dot Lee, a wildlife rehabilitator. They moved to Fort Myers, FL in 2009 in order to save Trouper's life. He is now (2012) blind, cannot smell, climb, feed himself, or defend himself. He has become a fully licensed animal ambassador, and the center of a wildlife education program for children called, Trouper's Teachings.
About the Author
Kyle L. Miller relocated from the northeast to Sanibel Island, FL in 1999. She retired from teaching and coaching to become an award winning author, publisher, and wildlife educator. In 2005, she founded Jungle House Publications and self-published her first wildlife storybook for children, a 2009 Eric Hoffer Award Winner, titled, DILLO A Baby Armadillo s Adventure on Sanibel Island. Since that time, she has published a picture book, The Mysterious Creature, by Randon T. Eddy, a coloring book, and in January, 2011, authored her second wildlife storybook, Snowy Pea and the Ghost Crab, a 2011 silver medal award winner from the Florida Publishers Association's annual President's Book Awards . Having earned advanced degrees in physical education from Ohio University and counseling psychology from Slippery Rock University, Kyle combines her love of wildlife with her educational background to write and publish wildlife storybooks for children that entertain, educate, and impart life lessons. Ms. Miller is on the Board of Directors of the Florida Publishers Association, Inc. and listed in the World Wide Who's Who registry of executives, professionals and entrepreneurs, 2011-2012 edition.
