The Only True Mother Goose Melodies. An Exact Reproduction of the Text and Illustrations of the Original Edition. Published and Copyrighted in Boston in the Year 1833 by Munroe and Francis. With Introduction by Rev. Edward Everett Hale. Published in Boston by the Lothrop, Lee and Shepard Co. 1905. [12] + 100 pp. 5.75” x 4.75”. Hardcover decorative boards. In fair condition, with some discoloration and scuffing to exterior. Light starting to rear hinge. Text block remains bound well. Light markings. Some illustrations appear to have been colored with black crayon. 1934 inscription at front. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce piece, housed in facsimile boards from the 1833 original. Includes introduction by Edward Everett Hale, best known as the author of “The Man Without a Country.”.
