The Truth About Music Lessons: The Top Ten Music Lesson Myths . . . Busted

You signed up your kid for music lessons, or you are thinking about it. Now you're drowning in questions. Does she need to read music first? Is he too slow to stick with it? Did you pick the wrong teacher? Should you have waited until she was older? Every parent who's ever sat in that waiting room has been there. In The Truth About Music Lessons, you'll learn how to:

• Ditch the pressure to have a "talented" kid (and discover why dedication beats natural ability every time)
• Support your child's practice (even if you can't read a single note yourself)
• Spot a great teacher (and learn why a fancy degree isn't the test)
• Stop worrying when progress feels slow
• Choose the right studio instead of assuming they're all the same
• Recognize what music lessons are truly for (hint: it's not perfection)

Music doesn't just teach your child to play an instrument. It gives them a voice. It builds confidence, identity, and joy that no other activity quite replicates. Stephan Hume has run music schools for nearly two decades and has watched hundreds of families transform-once they stopped believing the myths holding them back.

Stop second-guessing. Start them playing music-and loving it.
