12mo. Pp. [several un-numbered pages] 255. A second title-page says: "Truth's Vindication: or, a gentle Stroke to wipe off the foul Aspersions, false Accusations, and Misinterpretations, cast upon the People of God, call'd Quakers." Pp. 227-255 present "The Sayimgs of Women . in the Scriptures, . to shew how the Lord poured out of his Spirit upon the whole House of Israel; not only on the Male, but also on the Female." Mary Hinde, Quaker printer, publisher and bookseller, was active between 1760 and 1775. A Good copy, complete and tightly bound, in paneled calf, with losses to leather at spine ends and one corner.
