Truth Worth Telling: A Reporter's Search for Meaning in the Stories of Our Times – An Unflinching Account of Global Events from the Former 60 Minutes Correspondent

An inspiring, courageous memoir from the frontlines of history by one of the most trusted and respected voices in American journalism.

For decades, Scott Pelley has been reporting on news that matters. A former correspondent for 60 Minutes and anchor for CBS Evening News, he has been a fierce advocate for journalistic integrity and the importance of the freedom of the press in an era of disinformation. Now, for the first time, he shares a riveting dispatch from his award-winning career, chronicling globe-spanning moments that shaped our history and a portrait of the people who lived through them.

In moving, detailed prose, he:
• stands with firefighters at the collapsing World Trade Center on 9/11;
• advances with American troops in combat in Afghanistan and Iraq;
• reveals private moments with presidents (and would-be presidents) he's known for decades;
• offers a passionate defense of journalism and the necessity of a free press, and more.

"A monument to journalistic excellence" (Douglas Brinkley), Truth Worth Telling is a reminder of the values we can and must uphold, even in the most uncertain of times.

Scott Pelley has been a reporter and photographer more than 45 years. He is best known for his work on 60 Minutes and as anchor and managing editor of the CBS Evening News.
