Vol. I only of a set of two.This book is considered one of New Zealand's most significant tribal histories. Contents: Part I covers Tuhoe land and it's story focusing on the tribal history, lore, traditions, and practices and Part II covers traditions, myths, folklore, religious beliefs and practices of the Matatua tribes. Hardcover slight fading top and bottom edges but otherwise internally clean and tight. Previous owner's name and address penned on front end paper. Spine strip in bright gilt lettering with attractive Maori design. Heavy book which will reflect shipping cost. Dust jacket as a whole is good but with tape repairs at top of spine.
