About the Author

R J Garde (Prof. Emeritus) obtained M.S. and Ph.D. from the Colorado State University. He was professor of Hydraulic Engineering at the University of Roorkee, India where he was engaged in teaching and research in Fluid Mechanics and Fluvial Hydraulics. Since 1991 he has been attached to the Central Water and Power Research Station at Pune, India under Indian National Science Academy (INSA) Fellowship. He is a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering, the Institution of Engineers (India) & INSA.
