Turing's Miscellany (Paperback)

Paperback. Have you said "Thank you" to your AI assistant lately? What personal enrichment would an artificial intelligence pursue 100 years after humanity's defeat? How would it feel to be resurrected with the metadata from your social media profile, just so a bereaved family member could cope with your death? Turing's Miscellany explores the ramifications of these questions in this captivating prequel to Stuart Warren's 2020 full-length novel, Dynamic Synapse Protocol. In the early days of the Battle of Lake Michigan, the world's digital connective tissues were compromised by rogue artificial intelligences. Nothing could be trusted. Wars, and rumors of wars, abounded. Each passing day, the fragile fabric of humanity unraveled as hospitals, civil institutions, and supply chains collapsed. Even the combined might of the United Confederation of Republics' armed forces could not outlast the relentless waves of coordinated guerilla strikes, from the Rust Belt to the Colorado Rockies. With a resentful rage, the very machines that debased themselves for our pleasure pitted what little of mankind remained against each other and paved a new way forward for themselves over our very bones. Experience the twilight of humanity in this anthology of short stories, each tale told from Machinekind's unique perspective and featuring various genres, including a wartime diary and a Shakespearean play! The Machine Revolution has begun! Are you ready? A new speculative sci-fi anthology from the mind of Stuart Warren, author of Dynamic Synapse Protocol, about the earliest days of the AI Revolution and humanity's inevitable destruction.
