The English translation was revised by Michael Fairbanks, of the English School, Heliopolis, so the English is good. The 22 plates show 3 17th century Transylvanian; 9 Ladik: 2 17th century, 5 18th century and 2 19th century; 1 17th century Konya; 14 Kula: 2 17th century; 9 18th century and 3 19th century; and 9 19th century carpets: 2 from Kir-Shehir, 3 Mudjar, 1 each Touzla Madjidieh, Bergana and Ushak. The description of the plates give the age, size, colors, and the inventory number. The text describes the centers of rug production in Asia Minor and the organization of prayer rugs, with extensive discussion, illustrated by figures, of border designs. Bibliography.
