Turning Threaded Boxes

As John Swanson states, "A box with a friction fit lid is nice; a box with a threaded lid is extra special." In this book, John takes the reader through every step necessary to create beautiful turned wooden boxes with threaded lids. Accompanying the precise and detailed text are over 250 color photographs, showing every technique and tool used by the author. A box layout table is also provided to ensure that the boxes you turn on your lathe will have the proper proportions between the lid and the base. Once the box has been turned on the lathe and successfully threaded, instructions for adding a lustrous, durable finish are provided. Also included in this valuable text are gallery photographs featuring many beautiful box designs turned in a variety of woods. This book is a must for every woodturner who has ever wanted to create boxes "with a twist.".
