The Tutor: A Project Lumen Novel

She was hired to teach the children. But someone in that house had been studying her for years.

Elara Vale has spent her life making herself impossible to overlook. Brilliant, disciplined, and one step away from the future she has fought for, she knows how to enter difficult rooms and become necessary.

Then Julian Ashford offers her a job tutoring his two gifted children at Hollowmere House, and the invitation feels like everything Elara has ever wanted: money, stability, recognition, and the rare, intoxicating sense of being chosen.

But Hollowmere is not an ordinary house.

It is beautiful, silent, and governed by rules no one explains. Ava and Leo are extraordinary children, but their lessons feel less like education than observation. Julian is charming, brilliant, and dangerously attentive. His wife, Celeste, watches Elara with the hollowed terror of someone who has already lived through the ending.

At first, Elara tells herself she is there to help.

Then she finds the files.

A previous tutor who vanished without explanation. A system designed to measure talent, obedience, need, and fear. A project that does not simply discover gifted children—it shapes them. And buried inside Hollowmere’s carefully ordered world is a truth Elara was never meant to see: this job was not the beginning of her connection to the Ashfords.

It was the final step in a plan that started when she was six years old.

As Julian’s attention becomes harder to resist and the children’s danger grows impossible to ignore, Elara must confront the most terrifying question of all: is she the victim of Project Lumen, or its brightest result?

Dark, elegant, and psychologically addictive, The Tutor is a suspense novel about ambition, manipulation, forbidden attachment, and the terrible cost of being seen by the wrong person.

The first book in the Project Lumen series.
