About this Item

Light blue cloth boards, highly decorated in black and gilt to front and spine. 1883, Appleton, New York - scarce edition, no other copies of this series of three books available on internet at time of writing. Boards are worn and dulled, but the bright blue and gilt still make for a very attrective set of three books. Edges and corners bumped and worn. Frontispiece and Internal Illustrations By F. O. Darley (illustrator) - separated by tissue guard which is intact and in good condition. Gilt to upper edge in good condition, very bright for age. Binding is tight, text clean and bright through out, minor foxing to prelims. This volume is The Two Admirals, 576pp plus adverts, some pages not separated from as early as page 25 so the book has clearly never been read beyond this point, if at all. The full set of three books are available at a 20% discount on the individual prices.
