Original publisher's beige paper pamphlet. Text printed in black ink. 5" x 8 1/4." Sixty pages, complete. Pages are clean and intact overall but have light age toning throughout, moderate foxing (most apparent on first and last pages), and chipping along spine. A Very Good copy. The pamphlet contains two discourses that were originally delivered on May 20, 1821 upon the dedication of the Second Church in Boston. The discourses are about the history of the Old North Church and New Brick Church which merged to form the Second Church of Boston. The Second Church was first a Congregational church but later became Unitarian beginning in 1802. The Second Church eventually merged with the First Church of Boston in 1970. This address was given by Henry Ware, Jr. (1794-1843), a Unitarian clergyman who was serving as minister of the Second Church and Society at the time of the address.
