The Two Silences and the Human Interval: Why Our Brief Existence Matters—and What We Owe Each Other

In The Two Silences and the Human Interval, Mohammad Omar Farooq explores the questions that define our humanity: What gives life meaning? Can morality survive without an afterlife? How do we prepare for death without dying inside? And how can believers, skeptics, and seekers cooperate when their deepest beliefs diverge?

Drawing on philosophy, science, and major religious and wisdom traditions—including Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, as well as Secular Humanism, Confucianism, and Indigenous teachings—this book moves from personal inquiry to shared responsibility. It offers not easy answers but a framework: for living with integrity, building across difference, and stewarding the fragile gift of existence together.

For seekers, skeptics, and believers alike, The Two Silences and the Human Interval is an invitation to the conversation that never ends—and a call to make the space between the silences matter.
