The Two Tears of Christ: Jesus the Life and The Light of Man

The Two Tears of Christ explores two powerful moments in the life of Jesus when scripture records his tears. Through the raising of Lazarus and Christ's weeping over Jerusalem, this book examines Jesus as both the life and the light of man. Why did Jesus weep at Lazarus tomb when he knew he was about to raise Lazarus from dead? Why did he weep over Jerusalem even as the people failed to recognize the time of their visitation? Through biblical reflection, this book considers deeper meaning behind these tears: The tragedy of death and the tragedy of spiritual ignorance. Yet Christ's tears do not leave humanity without hope. Jesus came as the light to overcome darkness and as the life to conquer death. The Two Tears of Christ invites readers to see beyond sorrow to the victory found in Jesus Christ- the One who gives life, opens spiritual eyes, and promises a day when death will be defeated and God will wipe away every tear.
