About the Author

The author was born in Massachusetts and summered on the shores of the Sakonnet River, in R. I. She graduated from Newton Country Day School in 1945, and Manhattanville College in New York with a degree in English. She married her husband in 1950, and has four children and nine grandchildren. During her care-giving years she lived in the summer in Woodstock, VT., and in winter in Placida, Fl. Now she lives in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, and spends her time reading, socializing with her friends and family, and printing her images, after tweaking them in Photoshop. Today the author has a new rescue dog, named Nifty. She has inherited all the best traits from her unknown ancestors.
